A native of Minnesota, Tim Trost grew up spending untold hours exploring the wonders of the world outdoors, and became fascinated with anything growing in the surrounding woodlands, ponds and fields, including his family’s extensive fruit and vegetable gardens. Tim has fond memories of large family gatherings where all who came brought tasty home cooking from favorite recipes made with fresh garden produce, like his mother’s delightful strawberry-rhubarb pie. These traditions continue in the Trost family today. Tim began drawing at an early age and has illustrated professionally for almost 20 years. His areas of interest include culinary, botanical, medical and inspirational. His work has been published and featured in a variety of publications and has been part of national and international group exhibitions. Tim’s work is included in many private collections and in the permanent collection of the Bell Museum of Natural History. Through his art he creates an awareness of the often overlooked connection between families and their culinary traditions. Tim’s goal is to provide families everywhere the opportunity to create a personalized lasting memory that will be a treasured keepsake. Tim, his wife Joyce and their four children live on a small farm in the beautiful countryside of southeastern Minnesota.
